The Paper Products Ltd petition leaves debt and costs unstated
The petition names Lester Aldridge, but the Gazette notice records neither a payment to the petitioner nor an estimated return for other creditors.

Modern Paper Limited presented a winding-up petition against The Paper Products Ltd on 11 September 2026, according to the Gazette notice published on 3 November 2026, which names Lester Aldridge LLP as the petitioner's solicitor but identifies no insolvency practitioner. The notice identifies the company as number 17007057 and the proceedings as CR-2026-LDS-000914. It lists the hearing in the High Court in Leeds at 10am on 24 November 2026. Modern Paper is described as claiming to be a creditor; the notice records no payment to it.
The alleged debt, supporting invoices and any interest claimed are absent from the notice, as are Lester Aldridge's charges and any amount sought for petition costs. Those costs are distinct from the underlying debt: rule 7.20(1)(h) of the Insolvency (England and Wales) Rules 2016 provides for a winding-up order to direct payment of the petitioner's costs from company assets unless the court determines otherwise. Rule 7.108 of the same Rules includes petition costs among winding-up expenses payable from assets available to general creditors, ahead of distributions on ordinary unsecured debts. The notice records neither a costs award nor its amount.
Other creditors' positions are not stated. The Gazette notice requires anyone intending to appear in support or opposition to give notice to the petitioner or its solicitor by 4pm on 23 November 2026. Under rule 7.15 of the Insolvency (England and Wales) Rules 2016, Modern Paper must prepare the court's list of creditors and contributories who have given notice, including each creditor's claimed debt and whether that person supports or opposes the petition. The advertisement does not identify any supporting creditor or show that enforcement would produce a collective recovery.
Modern Paper's position does not give it an unconditional right to end the proceedings. Rule 7.17 of the Insolvency (England and Wales) Rules 2016 permits the court, in specified circumstances including the petitioner's consent to withdrawal or dismissal, to substitute another creditor entitled and willing to pursue the petition. The notice discloses no settlement, proposed withdrawal or request for substitution. It therefore provides no account of whether another creditor would seek to continue if Modern Paper ceased pursuing the case.
Companies House lists The Paper Products Ltd's first accounts as due by 2 November 2027. The Gazette notice supplies no asset values, secured lending, statement of affairs or estimated outcome statement. It reports no winding-up order or office-holder appointment and gives no time costs, remuneration proposal or estimated return for unsecured creditors. Any subsequent appointment notice, statement of affairs and progress report would provide the next documentary record of who takes control, what assets are available and what costs stand between realisations and creditor payments.
